Deforestation is a Problem

                                                                           DEFORESTATION

Deforestation is cutting of trees. Trees gives us oxygen and absorbs carbon-dioxide. People are cutting trees for farming, mining roads and grazing of cattle.

   ADVANTAGES

1. Deforestation makes cultivated land available for farmers.
2. After cutting trees from forests, the empty area can be used for the construction of houses, buildings, hotels, restaurants etc.
3. Trees provide charcoal, which is obtained by heating wood. It is a source of energy.
4. It also provides Job opportunities for the people who work in wood industry like wood cutters.
5. It provides materials for logging industry and paper industry. 

DISADVANTAGES 

1. By burning fuels like coal, oil and gas, the level of carbon-dioxide increases in the atmosphere. The world is getting warmer. The ice at the North Pole and South Pole will melt. This will bring floods and some Islands will disappear. Deserts will spread and drought will occur.
2. Deforestation destroys the habitats of millions of plants and animals.
3.  Deforestation is also causing "acid rain ". The smoke comes out from vehicles, factories and power plants released harmful gases in the environment.
4.  Deforestation is also causing soil erosion. Trees hold the soil. Without trees and exposure to sun the soil can dry out and it can lead problem like floods.            

     AWARENESS AGAINST DEFORESTATION

• I will tell my friends not to waste paper. 
• Same way I will tell my sister, parents, relatives not waste paper.
•  I would tell my friends to plant trees as much as they can. With the help of our parents, we can plant trees in public places, parks, gardens, play areas etc. 
• We can make notes against deforestation and stick them in our apartment's lobby, so that everybody can read it and be aware about deforestation. Same way we can make people aware in school, colleges, offices, restaurants etc. 
• We can stick posters saying " STOP CUTTING TREES", "DON'T WASTE PAPER" in public transport.
•  We should aware people about REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE by using recycled products like shopping bags, books, tissue paper etc can reduce  the need for cutting trees. 
• We can also aware people by telling the bad effects of deforestation. I think this way, people will understand the need of trees. 
• We can tell people to read online newspaper. 
• We can stop using gold and diamond jewellery, which are mined. 
• We can aware farmers not to use chemicals in their farms so that soil remains fertile without damaging plants.
